Pangea Media, the leader in online quizzes and quiz technology, has released the results of its “Pangea Pulse,” a survey which tracks the attitudes and preferences of tween and teen users.
According to responses to quizzes taken on Quibblo.com, one of Pangea’s online quiz properties, 57% of teen users prefer watching videos on YouTube over cable television. When it comes to keeping in touch with friends, 48% of tweens and teens said they would rather text friends than talk. Most teens and tweens surveyed (95%) have never heard of Twitter, and the majority of respondents (84%) would rather surf the Web than play an offline video game.
The survey also found that, despite their affinity for all things digital, shopping is still a social experience tweens and teens prefer to do offline, with 90% opting for a trip to the mall over a visit to popular shopping site eBay. When asked to pick between owning a car over a cell phone, 53% of survey respondents chose a cell phone.
Pangea Pulse results are based on more than 850 responses to quizzes taken at Quibblo.com over a period of three months.
