Social networking sites accounted for 20% of all U.S. online display ad impressions in July, according to new data from ComScore.
MySpace topped the category, with 9.2% of all U.S. display ads impressions, while Facebook had 8.2%. No other site topped 1%. Rounding out the top 10, all with 0.6% market share or less, were Tagged.com, MocoSpace.com, Hi5.com, Bebo, Classmates.com, BlackPlanet.com, GaiaOnline.com and DeviantArt.com.
The top advertiser on social networking sites in the month was AT&T, with just over 2 billion impressions, followed by Experian, with 1.25 billion. Rounding out the list, in order: Ask.com, Sprint, Pangea Media, Microsoft, Apollo Group, Zynga.com, GameVance.com and Verizon.
