Senior Systems & Network Engineer

We are seeking for a well-rounded system and network engineer who has demonstrated success with design, operation, and setup of complex and large scale web application systems. This position will play a critical role in the development and operations of the Pangea Platform.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and managing health, capacity, and performance of high availability, high traffic production environament
  • Implementing new architecture and consolidation of infrastucture in a single data center
  • Managing and standardization of server role configurations

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Operational experience with Debian based Unix, especially Ubuntu, supporting external customer web sites
  • Experience working from a UNIX shell for remote administration and scripting
  • Experience with the following software / technologies Ubuntu, Perl, MVC frameworks (especially Catalyst), MySQL, MongoDB
  • Amazon EC2 experience and extensive experience in scaling web based applications
  • Experience with application and SQL database servers, networks, firewalls, load balancers and caches
  • Experience in planning and testing disaster recovery, capacity expansion, system hardening and component upgrades
  • Experience in supporting and managing incidents until resolved; developing solutions, proactively communicating with team
  • Experience supporting multiple QA environments
  • Experience managing code releases
  • Experience developing and documenting test plans and test tools and executing manual, automated, performance and failover scenarios
  • Experience in supporting the engineering team with release engineering skills working in a frequent release environment.

We're seeking a well rounded, Technology Architect who has demonstrated success at solving problems in creative ways.   • 10+ Years of experience defining and building robust web based platforms that generate revenue through highly scalable and interactive B2C cloud based environments
  • 10+ Years ensuring architectural integrity and consistency across the entire platform by driving Engineering design discipline and playing integral hands on role throughout implementation and deployment
  • Proven success selecting innovative technology and complete understanding of total cost of ownership. Hands on role in guiding technology implementation across current and future Engineering streams
  • Excellent performance and scalability knowledge and skills in production environments along with proven ability to measure capacity and forecast utilization deployed within Amazon's AWS
  • Extensive experience communicating future architecture, documenting implementation roadmap and coordinating across Engineering designs
  • Proven ability to tightly integrate within an Agile based Engineering discipline with hands on architectural oversight responsibility, design leadership and proactive team communications

UI Engineer

We're seeking a well rounded, User Interface Engineer who has demonstrated success at solving problems in creative ways. If you have created and built commercial grade web-based production environments and love technology problem solving, Pangea Media could be a great fit.

  • 8+ Years of experience designing, building and supporting highly interactive, consistent web applications interfaces. Advanced knowledge of usability and design is a must
  • 8+ Years developing using DHTML, CSS and JQuery based Javascript for an AJAX based platform. Experience with MVC architecture is a must
  • Senior cross browser testing and debugging skills across development, QA and production environment along with proven ability to handle minor releases and emergency fixes
  • Extensive experience in building product that integrates with social media and advertising platforms
  • Proven success in working with non-technical audiences and graphic designers in building highly scalable, B2C web based platforms
  • Extensive experience in supporting and managing incidents until resolved; developing solutions, proactively communicating and mentoring team members
